How to play

White moves first. Men move one square diagonally forward and can capture both forwards and backwards. Select a piece to see its legal moves.

Capturing is compulsory: when several sequences are possible, you must capture the largest number of pieces. Highlighted squares guide you through the whole move.

The rules, made simple

  • International draughts: 100 squares, 20 men per side.
  • A man that ends its move on the last row becomes a king. Kings move and capture over any distance along a diagonal.
  • You win when your opponent has no pieces left or cannot move. Repetition and endgame move limits result in a draw.
